Day 7: A few changes

I need some solid input. The left side has shading on the rays next to the wheel. The right side does not. Which looks better? I feel like they need to be there, I'm just not convinced it looks right.

  1. I like the shading but got to lose the brass knuckles!

  2. Since you can't truly shade the sides of the stars, I think it looks better without it. If the brass knuckles are an issue- does the banner have to extend to the top, or are you using that to fill the negative space next to the crown? Could that be addressed by changing the size/style of the crown? I definitely think the change in the word order on the wheel is a big improvement. Overall I think it's really good and personally I love the colors.

  3. I'd say if you do the shading, which I do like, maybe some shading around the circles on the crown as well to stay consistent????

  4. I prefer it without the shading. To me it makes it feel heavy toward the bottom of the design. Or if you want to keep the shading you would need to darken the crown somehow. JMHO!

  5. I like the highlights. I think the colors should be dirty looking, like it has been rolled over by a roller dirby team. Make it look old and tattered.

  6. Andrea, The banner at the top serves 2 purposes. The first is in deed to fill the white space on either side of the crown. The second reason is that when you step back, the logo as a whole feels kind of like a royal crest. I wanted to play on the idea that Manchester NH is the Queen City. I do have another idea for the upper banners though. I am starting to feel like the brass knuckles are getting lost.
